In our advent calendar you’ll be able to win private online sessions with Elsa Blomster or Lena Gunnarsson, our book “Retrieving for All Occasions” (printed and e-book), our study guides or one of our many online courses (without feedback)! There will be a new gift every day, but some might show up twice so don’t give up if you don’t win the first time.
Today’s gift is the online course “Stop whistle – without feedback” for you or a friend.
Do you want a rock solid stop whistle that works both in your every day life, on hunt tests and while hunting?
In this course we start from the beginning and you’ll get advice on playful exercises to start with to get the dog to understand the stop whistle. Then we move on to more difficult exercises to be able to stop the dog at a distance and with distractions, for example scent on the ground, thrown dummies or game running by. Finally you get to practice duration – the dog should be able to respond to several stop whistles (f ex when you need to cast and recast the dog many times) without getting tired.

Winner day 10 – Retrieving for All Occasions – Study Guide Part II Intermediate
It’s so very difficult just to chose one winner, but here’s the winner from day 8, Retrieving for All Occasions – Study Guide Part II Intermediate: Congratulations to Jay Holweger who wrote” Enjoy the book but I find my self popping around all over the place in the book. So many good ideas to work on I find it difficult to focus on a structured plan. I think the study guide will give me more structure in developing a training plan that’s more reasonable and realistic.” Send us an e-mail at info@retrievingforalloccasions.com with your postal address and we’ll send you the study guide!

I would love to learn your methods for stop whistle. Do they work for Terriers? If I win, we’ll find out! 😀
Of all your courses, this is the one I wish for the most. Huck is my 2 year old Lab. We have nearly 100 acres to run off lead. His once stellar recall is beginning to get a little lax especially when he sees deer. I would love to learn the stop whistle for safety.
This would be great work for our English cocker. Thanks for your fabulous giveaways
I would love to win this to work on with my two flatcoats. I think the stop whistle could literally be a lifesaver so would love to be able to successfully train it in a positive way.
I often wish my stop were better and that we had even better methods and plans for this when we start. This course would be a great help for me and those I train with 🙂
I have a new 15 month old labrador bitch and a 9 year old westsibirian Laika bitch. I would love to train the stop whistle with both of of them, because I struggle a bit with my nordish dog to do the stop and my new labrador hasn´t any training yet. (My old border collie hasn´t any problems with the stopps) It would be great to train the stop whistle for my search and rescue training.
I signed up for a field class with my lab a few years back but it followed a negative, “old school” form of training. When I mentioned to the instructor I would like to use positive reinforcement he asked if I wanted my money back. I stuck it out, hoping to learn some of the principles of field work and after each class went home and clicked away! In spite of my inexperience, Annie turned out to be pretty darn good. We had a mock trial at the end of the class and the judge said if it was a real trial she would have earned her JH title! Imagine where we could be as a team if I knew what I was doing. With your book and online courses I hope to do a better job training her two year old pup. Believe me I need all the help and guidance I can get. Thanks for the opportunity.
I would love to train through this course with my youngster!
With this course i can start directly in the right with my puppy coming in a few weeks. Now I try to “repair” my older dog on a good stop.
