Tassla has acquired a new interest, in line with her heritage ;), namely birds. In the garden she has discovered that it’s really fun to run after them at full speed because they of course fly away… Thankfully we don’t have that many birds on our lawn at the moment; they’re mostly sitting in the trees. But chasing birds is not included in my plans for what Tassla should learn. At least not that way… 🙂
The other day we had gone for a short walk around the block and came upon a large crow sitting in the middle of the road. Tassla was loose and was zigzagging in front of me as usual. Suddenly she went off at great speed and only then I noticed what she had seen; the crow. The bird flies off and Tassla has time to jump after it before I get my whistle in my mouth and blow a stop-signal.
And what happens? Little Tassla puts on the breaks, looks at me, looks at the bird and back at me. And sits down. Bingo! And furthermore she sat still as a statue, impressively steady.
So I guess we can say we’ve had our flushing premiere? 😉 At least light flushing. I’m not entirely sure she would have stopped with a rabbit… But now I know I can do more challenging exercises when it comes to sitting on a flush at least. So now plans need to be made for fun flushing training!
