We got a nice email from Monica Hauan in Norway. We’ve previously been in contact when we donated a couple of books as prizes for a field trial that she hosted.
“July 27th –July 28th I was the steward at Sör Varanger hunting and fishing club’s annual field trial for HPR’s. This is the only trial held in Norway’s northernmost shire, Finnmark.
Every year, my partner and I (kennel Speldraget), give out a prize of honor for the best debutant, wanting to inspire more people to enter trials and to train “in a positive manner”. Thank you ever so much for sponsoring our event with two books!
Attached is a photo of the winner of the prize of honor, Ronja Pedersen with her UK 15-month-old German Wire-haired Pointer Speldragets F-Roxy. They scored a perfect score both on the Saturday and on the Sunday and were also awarded the trial’s best youth class dog!
The other book was given to Roland Strige, the owner of a Gordon setter, living 155 miles from Kirkenes. He was awarded the book at the gathering before the trials begun on the Sunday for his efforts to participate at the trial. He had to drive over 1242 miles during the week in order to first come train with us before the trial, and on top of all that he didn’t get leave from work to join in on the after-party. I don’t think he got much sleep during that week! He can now get good ideas and training tips from the book and won’t have to drive so far next year – even if we very much enjoyed meeting him! “
Monica also emailed us to tell us that she had entered a trial and that it had gone very well. Congratulations on your success and we’re always so happy to hear that our book is appreciated!
“Have been busy with the trial and the book has been so helpful. Three clicker trained gun dogs placed first this weekend and one of the young dogs scored maximum points both days and was awarded the trial’s best young dog. My Hungarian vizla Multe and my German Wire-haired Pointer Fresh and his sister, named Roxy. Hooray!”
