Thank you for the course! It made me really concentrate on recall and look at where we needed to make changes. My dog is sensitive and won’t forget the slightest unpleasant experience. Needing to recall her in a situation where I get even a bit tense is enough to make it unpleasant for her. So I’ve concentrated on rewarding check-ins heavily and used my whistle and verbal recall cue a lot in neutral situations. She’s checking in much more, doesn’t go very far, and after a cued recall, isn’t looking around anymore like “where is the danger/distraction.” I think we need to keep on practicing a lot, and with good management, hopefully won’t need the recall often in worrying situations. Tattling on the lead is also very useful for us as she can worry about strangers on a walk.

Thank you for this course, my dogs recall, where his nose is switched off is better (like it used to be). He is checking in more and generally aware I exist outside the house!
