Will your dog pick the dummy over the hamburger? No? Most other dogs wouldn’t either – but with the right training you can teach your dog to do it! Along the way you’ll also learn how to use the same principles to teach your dog to come when called even when it’s busy chasing something or walk with a loose leash in distracting environments.
Getting your dog to perform the behavior you want in any setting can be a challenge, but there are great ways to do it. Elsa and Lena, authors of the book “Retrieving for All Occasions”, will share their training methods on how to proof behavior in a structured way to achieve very reliable behaviors. They will tell you how to get your dog to be very confident when performing its tasks – both in your everyday life (for example the recall) and in your other training (obedience, retrieve/gun dog training etc.).
Elsa and Lena will also talk about making training joyful and easygoing, yet very effective. The duo will share how you can use play with your dog to get the behaviors you want.

Elsa Blomster
Elsa Blomster is a Swedish dog trainer, instructor and author of the book “Retrieving for all Occasions”. She has a Golden Retriever and a Labrador Retriever and she trains and has competed in obedience, rally obedience, tracking, working tests, field trials, and has obtained official qualifications in all these disciplines. In her every-day life she works as a organizational developer with IT in the construction business.
Elsa is a popular instructor – teaching courses both in Sweden and abroad on retrieving and clicker training. A few years ago when her pupils said to her “Training this way is so great and it’s so pleasant not having to be harsh to my dog”, “Why didn’t I come to you earlier for gun dog training” and “You should write a book about it” – it certainly warmed her heart and Elsa started to write the book “Retrieving for all Occasions” – together with her ”partner in crime” Lena Gunnarsson.
Lena Gunnarsson
Lena Gunnarsson is a Swedish dog trainer, instructor and author of the book “Retrieving for all Occasions”. At the moment she’s got three Cocker Spaniels which she is hunting and trialing with. She also competes in obedience class III and nosework with her cockers. Lena is a professional coach. She has been coaching groups and individuals for the past 20 years. In the last decade she has also coached dog trainers all over Scandinavia.
Elsa and Lena are always looking to find a better way of doing things. They are also very well organized and careful to create a safe learning environment for both dogs and handlers. Together they own a publishing company – Klickerförlaget Göteborg AB – where they publish books, films and arrange clinics and courses about positive dog training.
